I’ve got two gardens going here in LA, and we are SWIMMING in zucchini and yellow squash. So I made my famous green soup! I don’t usually post for birthdays anymore, because there’s too many to post. But this lady right here clocks some serious hours with me. About 10 years ago I walked into work and was told we had a new assistant branch manager (a woman?, ugh, don’t pee on my territory lol). That was @samguido and I quickly caught wind of her personality and mayyyy not have liked her right away. After figuring out she lived close to me and going out with coworkers, we started to hang out. We have been inseparable since, despite multiple moves and crazy life changes. She’s basically my boyfriend/life partner. She’s taken me in when I’ve been low, she’s always there when things are rough, she’s my #1 emergency contact. She will excruciatingly bake me 6000 mini macaroons because she knows I like tiny things, she will plan the sh*t out of any get-together or party we have in an instant, she will hem my clothes, she will fill my cup, she will craft a Beyonce “Single ladies” costume so we can be Lady Gaga & Beyonce for Halloween, and apparently now she will travel multiple countries with me for weeks and not get sick of me (somehow). Even though we accept that I’m “a lot”, she still remains a patient, supporting, and non-judgmental best friend. Over 2 weeks, 5 countries, 4 flights, hundreds of walked miles, and a crapload of train rides later... a huge crew and some wild Karaoke in London, drinking wine in caves, plenty of London mules, craving more time in Paris, lightning struck just hours after being below the Eiffel Tower, a slew of Benedryl, Allegra, Claritin and tissues after daily allergy meltdowns (was NOT prepared for this!), 100s of male “Jorts” sightings, late dinner times in pure daylite, rosé in parks and on french patios, quiche, croissants, creme brûlée, crepes, duck, niçoise, coffee, Italian reds, Aperol Spritz all day, panini, gelato, pizza, truffles ereyday, risotto, pork, SO MUCH GNOCCHI/GNUDI/RAVIOLI, getting seated with/making friends with other Americans EVERYWHERE, a little public exposure incident not 15 minutes into arriving in Venice, outsmarting the pickpocketers, more familiar hometown faces in Florence (@kmel99 💗), 3-4a hotel returns, a collection of Italian phone #s and WhatsApp #s, joining a Speakeasy in Rome at 3a our last night, forgoing any hair/makeup effort the entire trip (F it), sooo much cigarette smoke, but also so many streets smelling of sweet jasmine, feet swelling up so bad I couldn’t get my walking shoes on 🐷, days of jet lag, and overall subsequent serious contemplation of my life 😂. Thanks to my ladies @samguido and @d.stras for putting up with my adult baby clothes, daily 3 spa-like showers, sore hips, constant hunger/2nd breakfasts and 5 meals per day requirement, dealing with my new found salumerie obsession, trekking to all my foodie spots w/ bad GPS, my piggy feet/cankles, “YOLO, lets do this” every night attitude, my escalator handicap (they really enjoy my fear of escalators), hogging the mirror and bathroom...must I go on? “I’m not sick of you at all” -Sam at the end of this trip 🤔. #eurotrip #italy #paris #england
